Ingrid Cruz, 17, from Longsight, was released from the hospital two days later for unknown reason.

Last Monday, Longsides Public School Superintendent Robert Davis spoke out about the ordeal by publicly speaking out about the need for bullying prevention. Davis said the incident occurred after she got a bad paper copy of the school’s new academic standards that had not yet been sent home with parents. When she saw one her teachers telling them about some new language they were required to fill out regarding the new standards, Davis said, she felt compelled to speak up.

Davis also says some parents are not satisfied with what is being done by the school district. Davis said the school district is now working to make it easier for teachers to find ways to make bullying a thing of the past in the classroom.
